If there’s one thing a stripped down Jeep is miserable at, it’ s being unobtrusive. Can’t even safely pick my nose.

Kinja'd!!!

B ut, when it’s 90° outside, there’s nothing better than naked Jeeping.

P.S. I’ll probably do another Jeep Experience post eventually, just haven’t been inspired lately to flesh out any of my ideas. Sorry for the erratic schedule.

For the record, the most obnoxious part of having the windshield down isn’t the wind, but the sun when it’s low in the sky . Whew.

After taking a few sizable rocks to the windshield which otherwise would have hit me dead in the face were it not there, not so sure I'd make a habit of driving around the highways and byways as such.

There’s always a risk, but I don’t take the interstates and generally stay under 45.

Another Jeeper here in Indy drives like this year-round, on the interstates in sub-zero weather . Certifiable.

I’m so glad you joined Oppo, your content is top notch!!

Side note: I’m already thinking of my 2019 tax time car purchase. I think I want a non-smart. A Jeep Wrangler (two door, soft top, manual?) and a NA Miata are dueling it out in my head for the winning spot.

I can't imagine it's much worse than riding a motorcycle. I recently took a rock to the face when I was riding with my open face helmet. Thankfully it hit my shades because otherwise it would have hit me squarely in my right eye.

Thanks!

I just passed up an opportunity to pick up an NA, my dad’s/nephew’s. Convertibles are my kryptonite, but it needed someone who could restore it, and that isn’t me right now.

Chicago (right?) isn’t particularly close to any off-road parks unfortunately, although the Cliffs off-road park has a good reputation and Michigan has no shortage of interesting places.

Neither sounds particularly pleasant.

Glad you’re ok! Hopefully it gives you pause next time you’re trying to decide which helmet to don. Objects approaching are ouchier than they appear. Would suck to get face/eye hurt, especially if it results in ragdolling down the pavement immediately afterwards.

I say “Chicago” as that’s easily recognizable and I don't like stalkers , however I’m actually in McHenry County. We have a few off-road parks and we have our own Jeep Safari thing every year, too.
